A humectant and anti-irritant with the ability to retain moisture and hydrate the skin. It is often used as a counter balance against the effects of peels or exfoliation.

One of nature's super-ingredients. The butter comes from the seeds of the Karate tree and is rich in vitamins A, E and F and essential fatty acids. It is an excellent moisturiser and protects the skin from dehydration and external aggressions, especially cold and harsh climates. Candelilla Wax is obtained from the Candelilla plant and is rich in nutrients. It is a great film-former, creating a barrier on the skin which can help help reduce moisture loss. It is also an excellent ingredient to bind oil and water together.

Caprylic acid is a saturated fatty acid that has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties.

A gentle but very effective moisturising ingredient. It is a fantastic emollient which penetrates without leaving an oily residue on the skin. It both replenishes the moisture content on the surface of the skin as well as helping to reduce moisture loss.

Carbomers are white, fluffy powders frequently used as gels in cosmetics and personal care products to give the formula a lovely texture. They are used to keep emulsions from separating.

"Quats" make up a diverse family of compounds, each with its own spectrum of properties and always associated with a number (-5, -10, -44). The safety profiles of different quats are not all the same. We use polyquaterium-37, a hydrophobic film-forming polymer, as a conditioning agent. Polyquaterium-37 contains no ammonia compounds.

Aka Jojoba Seed Oil. Jojoba has been used since Native Americans used it to treat skin conditions. A great all round anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial with a high content of fatty acids, Vitamin E and minerals. An excellent skin nourisher, restorer and soother, it also has the distinction of being the vegetable oil that most resembles human sebum.

Derived from Fennel. A natural antimicrobial ingredient which helps preserve the product and prevent the build up of germs and bacteria.

A synthetic chemical produced when benzoic acid, which is found naturally in some fruits and spices, is combined with sodium hydroxide. It is an effective preservative and helps prevent bacteria and fungi from developing in the formula.

The sodium salt of lactic acid, or milk acid, and is produced by the fermentation of sugar from a natural source, such as corn or beets. Sodium Lactate may be used as a preservative, acting as an inhibitor of bacteria growth.
